Breaking the Norm

Leave it to Sigma if you're looking for something unconventional. They've came out with the Mammoth equivalent of a super tele zoom the APO 200 - 500mm f2.8 and the large aperture wide 20mm f1.8. These lenses are not even available with the genuine manufacturers. The 50mm is the normal lens for 35mm which dates back to the early days of the slrs and rangefinders. Favored by many lengendary photographers such as Henri Carier Bresson, they've been sidelined in the modern days by cheap kit zooms. Offerings by the genuine manufacturers dates back to the 70s and 80s in design except for the Canon 50mm f1.2L. These offerings offer sharp result when stopped down but suffers from softness and vignetting when shot wide open due to the dated design. Now Sigma breaks the norm by offering an all new 50mm f1.4. Incorperating aspherical element to improve image quality, it has shown what a little tweaking can greatly improve an already great optical design. And they also broke the record for biggest 50mm f1.4 in the planet for 35mm slrs. Check out the reviews below:

ps:Before you run to your near by camera shop to grab one, let me tell you the bad news. The price almost double what the original manufacturers has to offer.
